在学生通过阅读练习,了解了课文大意和一些具体信息的基础上,笔者利用课文概要填空法,即把课文缩写成概要,留出空格,让学生填出关键词。这既
能考查学生的语言知识,又能考查他们的理解能力,尤其可帮助学生更好的理解文章,培养学生归纳和概述的能力。
以这篇课文为例,学生根据课文内容,在空格中填入恰当的词。

这样整个课堂就处于一种真实的、交际性的氛围中。一方面学生各抒己见,说的时间大大增加,口语表达能力也得以提高,另一方面学生也加深了课文的理解。当然,一篇文章不只是通过泛读进行理解,英语的阅读能力是一项综合素质,它必须建立在丰富的词汇量,良好地语感和语法的基础上,而这些能力的培养。都来源于精读,因此在泛读之后,我都会要求学生精读,并给出明确的课后任务。
